Trauma-Sensitive Yoga: An introduction for survivors and those professionals and others who know and work with survivors of trauma to a research-based form of Yoga showing real help for brain/body healing. David will be using his training from the Trauma Center of Brookline, Massachusetts, Yoga program, headed by David Emerson, author of Trauma Recovery Through Yoga. Clinical research by the Trauma Center and Dr. Bessell van der Kolk, M.D., the world’s leading expert on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, shows healing for brain/body through brain scans of trauma survivors who practice Trauma-sensitive Yoga. These clinical studies are also showing personal feelings of increased empowerment and reconnection to the feeling body. This introduction will set the stage for the possibility of an ongoing class for trauma survivors.
